Inspired by the diversity of my home country, I decided to create a lettering-based illustration of the main cities in Brazil. Every city has its language, translated in various forms, like the accent, the way people talk to you, or the food. I tried to express those singularities of each region by bringing some visual references that are characteristic of those places, such as the outline of the state, the flag, a common saying, the local area code, etc. The result can be found in the book “Ascenders Volume.1 -Leaders in Contemporary Lettering” to be released in November by Capsule Books.
